When you least expect good things to happen, there they are, right in front of you! I found one hidden gem this week, Cafe Cineast/Konditoriet in Sveg, Sweden!
One of those glamorous working days when I headed out to the airport too early in the morning in order to catch the morning flight, spend a day in an office for meetings and return back late at night. This time I headed for this small, small town in northern Sweden that we always speed through while driving to our mountain house. Sveg for me is a gas station, refueling, candy or a hot dog and then we hit the road again.
I was pleasantly surprised to find an old fashion ‘fika’ place – Konditoriet or Cafe Cineast where the interior was set in the fifties! Fabulously done! And not to mention the attributes, the homemade cakes and buns, world class!
The owner is a cineast and has decorated the whole upperfloor based on movie themes. You will find the cowboy bar, the mob and their pool room, the horror room etc. For you to pick your favorite spot for your ‘fika’ (ie coffee and cake)!
I think we will have a mandatory detour for our next trip to Tänndalen!!
