Easter week with a huge span of activities ranging from skiing in the Swedish mountains, work in Stockholm and then finally, city sightseeing in the exciting city of Berlin! A strange, interesting, thought provoking tour to the city with such a nerve and exhilirating frenzy but also the history of the WW II ever present in the scene of the city. I’ve been visiting the city a couple of times before for business but as always, the visit ends up being sketchy with no context. This time we spent a thorough amount of time on tours reminding of the history and the context which is a totally different experience.
Shopping was limited (travelling with two guys….), sun was unlimited! People, food and experience were great!
No shopping but I did see two very interesting concept stores – I’m sure the alike will show up on the Stockholm scene…
The Store – welcome to my home concept – everything is for sale and it feels like walking around in someone’s home. Super trendy and fabulous but also super expensive… Good for inspiration and a lunch!
And also, different type of department store, next to the Zoo and with a New Yorkish feel to the roof top garden! Cool, new and organic concept! Bikini, Berlin!
Berlin without the WaLL is not Berlin. Cool to see the East side GAllery with grafitii on the original wall.
And also the traditional visiting of the historical Berlin (mostly on the old East side)
Brandenburg Torg
The Jewish Memorial – physically and mentally heavy to grasp!
The Reichtag with its astonishing dome!
It’s not a sight, it’s everywhere – the traffic sign! Check out ‘les bonhommes’!
And the car, the legend – the Drabant!
And everything else that you need to see and experience!
The trains…
The pipes and the constructions sites (which are everywhere, even though it’s hard to imangine, there’s still a lot to rebuild)…
CharlottenStrasse…
The monuments, the parks, the people and the atmosphere – it’s a place to visit for sure!!
